When you have a life-threatening emergency, immediately call 9-1-1. Stay on the line, speak clearly, and provide all information regarding the type of emergency and assistance that is needed. 9-1-1 should be used for EMERGENCIES ONLY.

Who do I call to report illegal fireworks use?
Illegal fireworks can be reported by calling 9-1-1. Once reported, fire department will send a response to investigate. Please keep in mind that firefighters responding to life-threatening calls may be delayed in responding due to call priority.

How do I get a copy of a fire or medical report?

Can I file a report about an incident online?
Incident reports are generated from a fire department response and cannot be made online. If there has been a fire and you would like to report it, please call 9-1-1. Firefighters will respond and work to resolve the issue to the best of their ability. Most fire department responses generate a report that can be obtained by following the instructions listed under the “How Do I” tab and selecting “Obtain a Fire or Medical Report.”
How do I check my smoke detector?
Checking your smoke alarm is done my depressing the button on the face of the smoke alarm until the audible alarm is heard. Most smoke alarms have a ten-year life expectancy and newer models have batteries that do not need replacing. Smoke alarms should be checked every month and be placed in every sleeping area, and hallways leading to the sleeping areas.
Do you give fire extinguisher training?
Fire Extinguisher training as well as other public fire education is offered by the Montebello Fire Department. There are some limitations of class availability that can be explained by the fire prevention department who oversees public education. Can I volunteer as a Firefighter in Montebello?
The Montebello Fire Department has two volunteer opportunities. The first is for the Fire Explorer Program and the second is the Fire Auxiliary Program. The Fire Explorer program is open for persons at least 14 years old and no older than 21. The Fire Auxiliary Program is open to men and women who meet the minimum qualifications.
