Angie Jimenez was elected in 2018 to the Montebello City Council, where she currently serves as Councilmember of the 5th District.
Professionally, she currently owns her own company, where she provides business development consulting and event management services, such as the Dia de Los Muertos celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. One of the largest celebrations in the Country.
She also works as a Nonprofit Manager with the Wall Las Memorias, where she provides education and access to COVID Testing and Vaccines to marginal communities.
Previously, she worked as a faith-rooted organizer with Clergy & Laity United for Economic Justice, where she organized broad coalitions of faith leaders, workers, immigrants, and low-income families for a just economy that works and protects society’s most vulnerable.
She worked for six years in the office of constituent services for the Mayor of Los Angeles where she handled residents’ complaints and managed to cut government bureaucratic red tape in order to solve resident problems in one of the largest and most complex municipalities in the country. She also worked as a community relations representative for the Montebello Family Support Center.
A person of deep faith, she has dedicated years of countless hours serving and making a difference with nonprofits and churches. Specifically, she volunteers significant time with Padres Contra el Cancer, committed to improving the quality of life for children and young adults with cancer.
Her parents lived in Montebello when she was born, and she briefly lived in Jalisco, Mexico as a child. She returned to the U.S. and attended Montebello Unified School District schools. She graduated from Bell Gardens High School. She first got involved in politics as a college student, where she volunteered on the Gray Davis for Governor campaign, organizing students and registering them to vote.
Mayor Pro Tem Angie Jimenez is a Montebello homeowner and single mother of two children. She has lived in South Montebello for over 15 years. Her parents and siblings also live in Montebello.
